Office Live WorkSpace + Windows Live FolderShare

March 14th, 2008

Microsoft after mopping up companies in the online storage space is competing really smartly with Google. They have unveiled Microsoft Office Live Workspace to store and share Word, Excel, PDF and PowerPoint documents online. The service also comes with a Bulk file uploader to store multiple files at the same time.

In a separate move, Microsoft has also unveiled Windows Live FolderShare. The difference between Office Live Worskspace / Windows Live Drive and Windows Live FolderShare is that the latter is about automatic synchronization and accessing of files. The former services use browser for uploads while the latter is a built-in service in Windows Vista and latter systems that sits in your system tray and works in the background. The only limitation of Windows Live FolderShare is that the maximum file size should not exceed 2 GB. Now will Google respond with an unlimited storage facility for consumers ?
