Recover GMail Password by SMS

July 10th, 2009

Google’s Gmail has added a new facility to make its users passwords more secure. You can now associate your GMail account with your Mobile Phone so that in case your account is hacked, you can request the password be sent to your Cell Phone as a SMS.

First, Login to you Account and then goto “Change Password Recovery Options”, enter your mobile number and save it. It is suggested that if you are using GMail like us for everything, add as many security checks as possible – Secondary e-mail address, Security Question, Mobile number etc.

Don’t worry, Google will not spam on your mobile number and it will only be used when you forget the password and request it to be sen to your Mobile as a SMS.
