Google Nexus 7 Tablet to Take on Amazon Kindle + Samsung Tabs

Google in Hardware Partnership with Asus today unveiled Nexus 7 Tablet in the US Market. The Photo on your left is the Live Image of Nexus 7 captured at Google I/O Day One. Google’s Android Strategy of continuously innovating and improving the Mobile OS is paying off as Asus need not pay Google a penny in licensing the same.

Hardware Powering Nexus 7
Nexus 7 is powered by NVIDIA’s quad-core Tegra 3 chip and has 1 GB of RAM. Comes in two versions 8GB or 16GB of storage. It has a 7-inch screen with 1280×800 IPS display. Weighs 340 grams and has a front-facing camera. Nexus 7 Can communicate over – Bluetooth, 802.11b/g/n Wifi connections. It has GPS, Sensors – accelerometer, magnetometer, and a gyroscope helping you use this as handheld gaming device. Nexus 7 also has NFC. A Micro-USB Slot to connect to any other Device physically.

Nexus 7 is running on Android family’s Jelly Bean OS [4.1 Version] and is the first device to ship with Google Chrome as standard browser. It also has Offline Maps [Powered by Google Maps], which lets you save an entire city to your device!

Cost of Nexus 7
It costs just $199 and is available for ordering in the United States. Yet another Reason now to ditch the Poorly and iPad Copied Samsung Tabs which are sold at huge premium in the Indian market with hardly any customer care.

    Google can ship 5-10mn units of Nexus 7 in 2H12. Cost of the 16GB version is $249.
    Google offers a $25 credit to the Google Play store for any Nexus 7 Tablet.
