New Dish Hopper with built-in Slingbox to Stream Content to Tablets / Mobile

January 16th, 2013

Dish Sling Box GuideAt the CES 2013, Dish Network built on its momentum from last year and remained one of the stars of the show. Dish’s Hopper with Sling adds a built-in Slingbox and allows its subscribers to connect remotely and stream either live or recorded TV with the Dish Anywhere app on its tablet or laptop. In addition, the Hopper Transfers app allows users to download one copy of any recorded program onto a mobile device for viewing without any internet connection.

We expect this to only add fuel to the fire of the existing lawsuits from the broadcast networks against Dish Network, which started last year after Dish unveiled its Hopper and PrimeTime Anytime products. In fact, CNet was forced by its parent company, CBS Corp, to remove the Dish Hopper as a finalist for its Best of CES awards: The Dish Hopper with Sling was removed from consideration due to active litigation involving our parent company CBS Corp, CNet’s note reads.

We will no longer be reviewing products manufactured by companies with which we are in litigation with respect to such product.
