MediaTek can support ASPs beyond core migration by innovating around modem and connectivity (LTE, NFC, 802.11ac), new cores (big.LITTLE, A12, 64-bit) and GPU to drive display resolution, camera quality, faster data rates and longer battery life. MediaTek’s cost optimised dual and quad-core, big.LITTLE quad-core and 802.11ac router chipset are ramping in 3Q13, LTE modem
sampling in 4Q13 and big.LITTLE Octa-core, LTE with AP, and NFC in 2014. Octa-core could grow to 5-10% of shipments at US$30+ to support pricing. Mediatek has innovated in the SmartPhone and Tablet Processor market and has been able to compete to keep the Average Selling Prices Lower helping build the eco-system.
